Recently, Dr Anne-Maria Brennan joined colleagues from the Worshipful Company of Educators to raise money and celebrate history.
As a Freeman of the City of London, Dr Brennan has the right to drive sheep across London Bridge – an ancient right that celebrates over 800 years of history. The unique event is organised by the Worshipful Company of Woolmen and Dr Brennan was invited to take part along with colleagues from the Worshipful Company of Educators.
Whist it might seem baa-rmy it has a serious side. Dr Brennan said, “It’s a case of the sort of ‘use it or lose it’, action that keeps rights of way open, besides which”, she added, “it also raises money for charity and must be the strangest sponsored walk I’ve ever done!”
