On Wednesday 25 March, we welcomed the Nikaean Club to our campus and they hosted the dinner for the installation of the new Archbishop of Canterbury, Dame Sarah Mullally, in our Rutherford Dining Hall.
Our team worked closely with various departments across the university, including our catering team who delivered a delicious meal for the special occasion.
Alongside the dinner, Kent Police set up an office in Keynes College throughout the week to support the Installation. We provided packed lunches for 12 days whilst the team were searching the Cathedral, carrying out checks and they held their briefing session in the Keynes car park on the Wednesday.
It was great that this event could still go ahead during the meningitis outbreak and extra measures were put in place to keep everyone safe. The police working the event were also offered the Men B vaccine from our on-campus clinic set up by the UKHSA and NHS.
“What can I say, but a huge thank you for all you and your team did to make the Nikaean Club dinner for Archbishop Sarah on Wednesday such a huge success!! I am extremely grateful – and very impressed. I have had lots of very positive comments from both members and guests. The food was wonderful and the service and venue perfect. It has been a pleasure to work with you and everyone else in your team.” Chair of the Nikaean Club
