Kent Invicta Chamber Business Networking Walk Event

On Thursday, 10 April, we hosted a ‘Business Networking Walk’ event with the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce and welcomed their members onto our Canterbury campus.

“Huge appreciation for your amazing hospitality and organising a scenic tour of the campus. Your facilities are outstanding, what a perfect venue.”

We started our walk from Darwin College and walked across the campus taking in the beautiful grounds until we reached the Kent Community Oasis Garden (COG), where Emily Mason, Sustainability Coordinator, at Kent, shared information on the brilliant work the Sustainability Team are doing and the benefits the COG Garden offers to students, staff, and locals.

What a lovely way to spend the morning, outside getting some fresh air, with great company and exploring the wonderful campus of University of Kent. What a great site!”

Our next stop was at Sibson, home to the Kent Business School, to chat about how local businesses can get involved through guest lectures, sponsoring events and more. There was a reminder about booking a ticket for the upcoming Kent and Medway Business Summit which the Kent Invicta Chamber are one of the main sponsors for this year.

Finally, we built up to enjoying tea, coffee, and freshly baked cookies in the Darwin Suite – our all-year-round conference and banqueting suite.

“A big thank you to our valued Patrons, the University of Kent, for hosting the first Business Walks of the year and giving us an insightful tour of their beautiful campus.”

As patrons of the Chamber it was a pleasure to host their first business walk of 2025 and continue our commitment to supporting local businesses. With over 40 businesses attending on the day and 8,000 steps clocked before midday, we were able to show off the amazing facilities we have at the University of Kent.

This was the Chamber’s first business walk event of 2025, and it was certainly a busy one, with over 40 businesses attending and 8,000 steps clocked before midday. These events are a great way to bring professionals together from across Kent, helping people make meaningful connections while being active.

“The most delightful event ever, what an amazing morning.”

Thank you to Sandra Heyworth, Katherine Gisby, Emily Collins, and Emily Mason for their help in organising the perfect route for this event.
