We were delighted to welcome the Vulcan Riders Association to the University of Kent for the first time on 25-28 July.
The Vulcan Riders’ Association is a worldwide organisation with over 10,000 members in 25 different countries including 15 in Europe. The VRA brings together it’s members who share a passion for the Vulcan range of motorcycles.
They hosted their 18th VRA International Rally 2024 in our Kent Indoor Tennis and Events Arena and gathered over 300 guests across four days. The group including riders from France, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland and even some guests flew in from Australia and America to join the event.
Each year the annual rally travels to a different country and this year’s event was held in the UK and introduced guests from across the world to some English traditions such as Morris dancing.
Thanks you all for your support and professionalism, if only we could have the International Rally here every year!!
The group enjoyed riding around the stunning East Kent countryside and managed to fit in a group ride to the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway on Saturday.
The international association partnered with Kawasaki for the event and had a marquee outside the venue which showcased a range of their smaller Kawasaki Vulcan bikes.
Our internal catering team did a superb job with providing delicious food for their guests to enjoy. They were served buffet breakfasts each morning with the traditional full English and continental options as well as a BBQ, summer pies and a roast dinner for their dinners during their stay.
We hosted their guests in our Park Wood accommodation, located across the road from KITEA (Kent Indoor Tennis and Events Arena) for easy access and to give them exclusive use of that part of our Canterbury campus.
Thank you for effortlessly managing 400 bikers over a weekend making the 18th VRA International Rally 2024 such a outstanding success.
