University staff, schools and employers came together to celebrate degree apprenticeships

Many of the young people from Kent schools and colleges who attended had taken part in work experience days to raise awareness about degree apprenticeships. These students had their achievements recognised through a prize giving, led by former Olympian Michelle Robinson.

By bringing employers and prospective apprentices together the afternoon provided an excellent platform for networking, with a number of young people securing work experience or trainee positions with the companies represented.

The event provided an opportunity to showcase apprenticeship opportunities with a particular spotlight being shone on the new portfolio of degree apprenticeships aligned to construction due to be rolled out from 2018/19: Architect, Architectural Assistant, Quantity Surveyor and Chartered Town Planner.
