What will I need to do?

All students will need to continue to sign paper registers as this will continue to be the official record of your attendance. In addition, all students should check-in by touching their KentOne card on an attendance capture card reader, when arriving for a session. In some sessions, a paper register may also be taken.

Where?

We have installed card readers at the following locations:

Room Card readers
Cornwallis Octagon Lecture Theatre 2 (COLT2) One card reader at each entrance door
Keynes Lecture Theatre 1 (Brabourne) (KLT1)
Marlowe Lecture Theatre 1 (MarLT1)
Rutherford Lecture Theatre 1 (RLT1)
Woolf Lecture Theatre (W-LT)
Woolf seminar rooms 1-6

(W1-SR1, W1-SR2, W1-SR3, W1-SR4, W1-SR5, W1-SR6)

Two card readers in the Woolf Upper Foyer for checking-in at any of these Woolf seminar rooms

How?

  • Hold your KentOne card against the card reader until a green light is displayed to confirm your card has been read.
  • If a red light or no light is displayed, try again. If this is still unsuccessful, please contact the project team.

The rooms with card readers are:

• Cornwallis Octagon Lecture Theatre 2 (COLT2)
• Keynes Lecture Theatre 1 (Brabourne) (KLT1)
• Marlowe Lecture Theatre 1 (MarLT1)
• Rutherford Lecture Theatre 1 (RLT1)
• Woolf Lecture Theatre (W-LT)
• Woolf seminar rooms 1-6 (W1-SR1, W1-SR2, W1-SR3, W1-SR4, W1-SR5, W1-SR6)

When?

You can check-in from 10 minutes before the start of the event.

How do I know if my attendance has been registered successfully?

The card reader will display a green light when it has read the card.

The card readers will read any card, but only the information on your KentOne card will be meaningful to the system – ensure that your attendance is captured by touching only your KentOne card on the reader – if you touch a wallet containing several cards, there is no guarantee that it will be your KentOne card that is read.
