School of Arts Lecturer, Olly Double, along with two Drama alumni, Matt Hoss and Tom Blake, started Funny Rabbit Comedy Club in early 2019. Pre-Covid, the show ran every month in person at the Gulbenkian, hosted by Olly Double, along with two professional comedians, with guest spots for current students and recent graduates.
During the pandemic, the comedy club adapted and they’ve hosted a live show via Zoom, a socially distanced show in the Autumn at the Gulbenkian too, as well as a Christmas special with Olly Double by his fireplace at home. The next show is this Friday 5th February at 8pm with headlining guests, Jessica Fostekew & Grainne Maguire.
Olly Double will also be taking part in an online panel discussion titled, ‘Is Comedy Art?’ with Sophie Quirk at Leicester Comedy Festival, taking place on Saturday 6 February.
