Head of Comedy and Popular Performance at the School of Arts, Olly Double, will be speaking at the upcoming TedX event hosted by London Business School, streaming on the 2nd and 4th February 2021 from 19.00 – 20.30 GMT.
The theme for this event is ‘Mind the Gap’. London Business School explain, “We are surrounded by different types of gaps in our lives, which we tend to overlook or take for granted. It is time we mind those gaps – we should examine the presumed, listen to the voiceless, and seek out the missing. Through their stories, our speakers will enlighten us about the gaps our society faces and the opportunities that arise.
Olly Double has worked as a stand-up comedian on the national comedy circuit and set up the Last Laugh, Sheffield’s longest running comedy club. In addition to his performances, Olly has written a number of books, chapters and articles on stand-up comedy and variety theatre, including in his latest book, Alternative Comedy: 1979 and the Reinvention of British Stand-Up, published in 2020.
