Funny Rabbit returns with two sessions for September

Funny Rabbit Comedy Club

Funny Rabbit, the monthly comedy club created by Dr Olly Double, Reader in Drama in the School of Arts, is back for the new term. The first of the academic year will be a student-only event, held outdoors on the lawn outside the Gulbenkian café on Thursday 24 September 2020. This will be followed with a second public event on Friday 25 September 2020.

Funny Rabbit is a monthly comedy club – radical and exciting, but also warm and snuggly as a bunny rabbit.

The club also features guest spots from the Department of Drama and Theatre; the Thursday 24 September event will start at 6pm and will feature a bumper line-up of Drama students, including Harry Negus-Ross, Beth Fox, Taylor Sonko-Garvey, Reba Ayi-Sobsa and Tor Lorentzen.

The Thursday event is free but for students only, and booking is required. Each ticket is for a zoned area that can accommodate up to three students from the same household/bubble. So bring a blanket to keep warm as the sun sets, something to sit on, dress for the outdoors, make yourself comfortable and settle in for an evening of comedy.

There then follows a public Funny Rabbit on Friday 25 September 2020 at 8pm, to be held within the Gulbenkian cafe. This event is open to the public, and costs £5 concessions or £7 full-price. The line-up for the Friday includes musical comedian Christian Reilly and comedian/writer/actor Caroline Mabey. The event will also feature one of the students chosen from night before.
