Dr Margherita Laera, Senior Lecturer in Drama and Theatre in the School of Arts, will take part in a live-streamed panel discussion on ‘Fabulamundi and Capacity Building’, part of the Fabulamundi Playwriting Europe: Beyond Borders? project, at 3pm BST on Friday 18 September 2020.
Fabulamundi Playwriting Europe: Beyond Borders? is a cooperation project among theatres, festivals and cultural organisations from 10 EU Countries for the promotion of contemporary dramaturgy.
‘Fabulamundi and Capacity Building’ is one of three webinars, curated and organised by the international network of Culture Action Europe, to share with the international community of partners and artists the impacts generated by the network’s four-year action both in terms of the circulation of contemporary authors and texts, and of policies to support the professional growth of playwrights at European level.
The panels will discuss how Fabulamundi worked on the capacity building activities addressed to playwrights. The webinar will have two sections. First, François Matarasso (ECCOM Project) will chair a discussion with French author Nathalie Fillion, and Spanish author Helena Tornero. Then, Margherita will chair the second discussion, which features Caroline Marcilhac, Artistic Director of Théâtre Ouvert, Paris. Margherita and Carolina will discuss Margherita’s research project, commissioned by Fabulamundi, on contemporary playwriting and theatre translation cultures in Europe
