Acá Theatre, an award-winning clown company made up of School of Arts alumni Nick Eastburn, Francisca Stangel and Avi Simmons will deliver ‘Get Clowning’ online workshops for The Gulbenkian as part of their Go Create! series on Wednesday 5 August 2020.
A joyous celebration of the funny in each of us, these workshops will get you moving, laughing, and applauding. Explore the noble and historic art of clowning through games, movement, and extreme accessorising.
Award-winning clown company Acá Theatre make witty and imaginative physical comedy for children and adults, using slapstick, acrobatics, sight-gags and silliness. All of Acá’s performances are home-grown and hand-made, from the characters, narratives and acrobatics, to the costumes and props.
There will be three workshops held on the day: 10.30am for 5-7 years, 12pm for 8-11 years, and 2pm for 12-14 years. Tickets are £4.50 and the workshop will be delivered on Zoom.
