Moving Memory to perform Beside Me at Margate Caves

Beside Me

Moving Memory Dance Theatre Company, created by Sian Stevenson, Senior Tutor and Lecturer in Drama and Theatre in the School of Arts, will be performing Beside Me on Friday 13 March 2020 as part of Power of Women (POW!) Thanet.

Beside Me is a performance of intimate and powerful moments from the often overlooked hinterland of the older woman. The audience is invited to become part of the piece which features a three course lunch, stories, music, movement and merriment – and a visit to Margate’s newly opened Caves.

POW! Thanet, which was founded in 2015, organises and facilitates community projects throughout the year, as well as an annual festival which coincides with International Women’s Day on 8 March 2020. POW! operates across the three main towns of Thanet – Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs – and aims to encourage community involvement in local arts and cultural activities, and profiling the work of local female artists.

Beside Me will take place at 1.30pm at Margate Caves.

Tickets for the performance, which includes a three course meal, are £18 plus the booking fee when purchased in advance, and are available on POW! Thanet’s website:
