Dr Margherita Laera, Senior Lecturer in Drama and Theatre, has been shortlisted for a prestigious TaPRA Early Career Award for her AHRC-funded Fellowship project, ‘Translation, Adaptation, Otherness: “Foreignisation” in Theatre Practice’. The winner will be announced in June. The project raises awareness of the complexities of theatre translation and asks how theatre can communicate linguistic and cultural difference without reducing the other to the same.
