Film Students’ Microbudget Module Short wins at Maverick Movie Awards

Recent Film graduates Bence Bardos, Eleanor Girling & Fabiana Tesauro have won the ‘Best Director’ award at the 2016 Maverick Movie Awards with their short ‘love’ which was made as part of Lawrence Jackson’s ‘Microbudget Filmmaking’ module last year.

‘love’, which was previously nominated for ‘Best Short Film’ and ‘Audience Choice’ at the Los Angeles CineFest Short Film Festival and won two awards for ‘Best Film’ and ‘Best Screenplay’ at the Canterbury University Film Festival (CUFF), was nominated for seven awards at the Maverick Movie Awards in the categories of ‘Best Short Film’, ‘Best Directing’, ‘Best Screenplay’, ‘Best Actress’, ‘Best Supporting Actress’, ‘Best Ensemble Performance’ and ‘Best Editing’. The film went on to win the ‘Best Director’ prize at the awards.

Coming up later this month, ‘love’ is also nominated for ‘Best Local Film’ at the Two Cliffs Film Festival in Ramsgate.
