Have you loved living on campus? Discovered a favourite spot to relax, found your go-to coffee shop, or made memories that will last a lifetime? We want to hear about it!
We’re looking for 10 students to share their personal experiences of living at the University of Kent and help future students discover what makes life on campus so special. Whether you’re a current resident or lived on campus in a previous year, we’d love to hear your story.
Option 1: Write a blog post
We are looking for students to submit a written piece of between 100 and 500 words. Please include your name, year of study and email address at the top of your document.
Option 2: Submit a short video
We are also looking for students to create short videos in the form of reels. Record a video of yourself introducing your experience of living on campus. Videos must be a maximum of 60 seconds, filmed in portrait orientation and in high quality.
What can you write/film about?
Your submission could cover one or more of the following:
- Living on campus: What do you love most about living here? What are the biggest benefits?
- Your experience: What has your time living on campus been like? Share your favourite memories.
- Your campus favourites: Where are your favourite places to eat, study, socialise or unwind? Do you have a favourite view?
- Your top tips: What advice would you give to students booking accommodation? When should they apply?
- Thinking about living off campus? What should students consider before making the move?
We want to hear about the things that make your university experience unique. There’s no need to be an expert writer – just be yourself!
How do I get involved?
Before submitting your blog post or video, please email CSMarketingTeam@kent.ac.uk to let us know you’re interested in taking part.
A member of our team will then get back to you to confirm and provide you with the relevant guidelines and format for your submission.
Once you’ve received these, you can start putting together your blog post or video and send it to us for consideration. We look forward to hearing from you!
What’s in it for me?
If your submission is selected for use, you’ll receive a £10 Time2eat or Amazon voucher as a thank you! We’ll aim to feature as many submissions as possible, but unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that every entry will be used. If your piece is selected, we’ll contact you by email from CSMarketingTeam@kent.ac.uk. You’ll need to reply to claim your voucher. Please note that we reserve the right to use your submission in University promotional literature across print and digital channels including social media.
I don’t currently live on campus. Can I still take part?
Absolutely! If you’ve lived on campus in a previous year, we’d still love to hear about your experiences of studying, living and socialising at Kent.
Will there be more opportunities to share my experiences?
Of course! We’re always looking for ways to celebrate student life and hear directly from our students. Keep an eye on your Home@Halls notifications for future opportunities.
