School of English ranks 7th in the UK in the Guardian League Table

In the Guardian University Guide 2018 (published this week) the School of English ranked 7th out of 106 institutions for English and Creative Writing. The annual league table uses the National Student Survey (Teaching, Assessment & Feedback and Overall Satisfaction), as well as student-staff ratios, expenditure per student and career prospects, to rank each institution and subject in the UK. This outstanding result confirms the School’s position as one of the leading departments in the country.

The School of English at the University of Kent works hard to provide a dynamic and supportive academic community. Recent National Student Survey results are testament to this ethos and we are delighted that the Guardian league table continues to recognise the quality of our students’ achievements and the strength of the School’s work.
