I was previously a Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Kent (2018-2024). Before that, I was a Research Fellow in Medical Methodology on a project called <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/jonw\/projects\/evaluating-evidence-in-medicine\/\">Evaluating Evidence in Medicine<\/a> (Arts and Humanities Research Council, 2015-2018). I work mainly on medical methodology. I want to work out how best to establish causal claims in medicine. (Please see my <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/wilde\/sample-page\/research\/\">Research<\/a> for more information.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">I contributed to a 4* <a href=\"https:\/\/results2021.ref.ac.uk\/impact\/cee35003-672d-4d46-a67d-06393e73a26a?page=1\">Impact Case Study<\/a> for REF2021. I am currently working towards another such Impact Case Study for REF2029. (Please see my current <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/wilde\/projects\/\">Projects<\/a> for more information.) I was shortlisted for a Medical Humanities Award by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and the Wellcome Trust (December, 2020). And I was awarded the University of Kent&#8217;s Prize for Early Career Researcher involved in Knowledge Exchange (\u00a33k, June, 2022).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">I mostly teach medical methodology and social, ethical, and legal issues in medicine. I have also supervised some excellent PhD students. I was previously the Kent Philosophy Department&#8217;s Director of Outreach, Recruitment, and Admissions (2019-2024). I was also on my School&#8217;s Equality, Diversity, and Inclusivity Committee.
