Wim van Oorschot and Peter Taylor-Gooby presented the books main findings to about 300 delegates. It argues that austerity has dominate welfare state policy across Europe, but as countries emerge from it, patterns of social investment, protectionism, neo-Keynesian intervention and fightback vary greatly.
