The Team

You will be working in an enthusiastic and highly motivated team to design, develop and support key University web systems.

You will maintain close relationships with a range of customers and stakeholders across the University to understand their requirements and translate them into attractive, effective, and responsive designs.

This role would also allow you to train in using additional technologies to develop your skills as a developer.

The Package

This post is based at the University’s Canterbury campus. It is offered at £26,829 – £31,076 for a 12-month fixed term contract and comes with a generous package of benefits including:

  • a contributory pension
  • 43 days annual leave
  • relocation packages
  • childcare packages
  • a great working environment and a great team!

This role is based in Canterbury. It’s a great place to live. Lots of culture and history (of course!). There’s easy access to gorgeous countryside, and the seaside is just a few miles away. Some of our team have even been known to run from the seaside into work!!

And London is less than an hour on the HS1.

For more information about what a great place Canterbury and Kent are to live try canterbury.gov.uk’s leisure and countryside pages.

And for tons of information about relocation packages, family-friendly policies and work-life balance at the University see the University job site.

You can also find information about local schools on kent.gov.uk’s ‘finding the right school’ site.

We are looking for someone who is proficient in HTML, CSS and JavaScript. PHP skills would be a bonus

We’d like someone who is comfortable with a range of web technologies, has an eye for clean, effective design who fully understands the need for a data-driven user experience.

You’ll need to be aware of accessibility and usability standards and how to make these work in real life.

And a bit more about us…

It is a great time to join the Web Solutions team as there are many changes on the horizon. Working with colleagues in Web Development, Enrolment Management Services and Corporate Communications you will contribute to the KentWeb project to redevelop the website and the Research.kent initiative to raise the profile of research at the University.
