{"id":4406,"date":"2024-08-09T13:05:00","date_gmt":"2024-08-09T12:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/webdev\/?p=4406"},"modified":"2024-08-09T13:05:00","modified_gmt":"2024-08-09T12:05:00","slug":"site-editor-page-layouts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/webdev\/2024\/08\/09\/site-editor-page-layouts\/","title":{"rendered":"Site Editor page layouts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">We&#8217;ve been consolidating our different page layouts in Site Editor.<\/p>\n<p>For most content, there are now three main layout options when you add a new page:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the <strong>Feature page (new blocks)<\/strong> layout,<\/li>\n<li>the <strong>Text page<\/strong> layout,<\/li>\n<li>or the <strong>MyKent Information page<\/strong> layout.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4414\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/webdev\/files\/2024\/08\/Screenshot-2024-08-09-at-10.13.11.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1817\" height=\"714\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Feature page layout<\/h2>\n<p>There are two <a href=\"https:\/\/livekentac.sharepoint.com\/sites\/is-site-editor-guidelines\/SitePages\/Feature-pages.aspx\">Feature page<\/a> versions, old blocks and new blocks.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re phasing out the old blocks version. New sites won&#8217;t include this layout anymore.<\/p>\n<p>New blocks will only be added to the new feature page layout.<\/p>\n<p>We encourage editors to transition to the new blocks layout, designed for the &#8216;ambition&#8217; brand, which offers better design, usability, and accessibility.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-4418 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/webdev\/files\/2024\/08\/Screenshot-2024-08-09-at-12.41.22.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"401\" height=\"412\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Text page layout<\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/livekentac.sharepoint.com\/sites\/is-site-editor-guidelines\/SitePages\/text-pages.aspx\">Text page layout<\/a> is ideal for editorial or longer-form content.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-4419 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/webdev\/files\/2024\/08\/Screenshot-2024-08-09-at-12.34.11.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"441\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>MyKent information page layout<\/h2>\n<p>If your site uses &#8216;Marketing v2 site&#8217; it will also include a <a href=\"https:\/\/livekentac.sharepoint.com\/sites\/is-site-editor-guidelines\/SitePages\/information-pages.aspx\">My Kent information page<\/a>\u00a0layout.<\/p>\n<p>This is a content page designed for use on <a href=\"https:\/\/student.kent.ac.uk\/\">My Kent<\/a> sites and very similar to the Text page layout.<\/p>\n<p>It replaces the old guides pages and allows grouping of pages as guides did.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/livekentac.sharepoint.com\/_api\/v2.1\/sites\/livekentac.sharepoint.com,eace1fc7-ded0-40d1-91b7-dcc0b7771d67,603efafe-794d-44c7-8f57-5f96715c5009\/lists\/0a4ca646-7b2d-48e7-b321-dd2249c1f963\/items\/be37801c-b9ba-4bde-86de-59dec00ff5b2\/driveItem\/thumbnails\/0\/c2560x99999\/content?prefer=noRedirect,extendCacheMaxAge&amp;clientType=modernWebPart&amp;format=webp\" width=\"402\" height=\"302\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve been consolidating our different page layouts in Site Editor.
