27-30 October 2016<\/strong>: UPTAKE @ Kent team (Igor Merheim-Eyre, Nele Ewers-Peters) take part in the annual GLOBSEC Tatra Summit in Bratislava, Slovakia. They represented Kent at the Young European Leaders forum, where they discussed issues of migration and reforms of the intelligence services, and where they met with European politicians\u00a0as well as representatives from investment platforms.<\/p>\n

20-21 May 2016<\/strong>: UPTAKE @Kent team \u2013 Professor Elena Korosteleva, Eske van Gils, Igor Merheim-Eyre \u2013 are invited to join the EURINT Jean Monnet Conference<\/a> \u2018The Eastern Partnership under strain \u2013 Time for a rethink?\u2019 in Ia\u015fi, Romania. They will deliver papers on SME promotion and economic diplomacy in Moldova; EU security governmentality and visa diplomacy in the Eastern Partnership; and negotiations over the Association Agreement between the EU and Azerbaijan. Professor Elena Korosteleva will contribute to the plenary session \u2018The effectiveness of the EaP in light of recent events\u2019.<\/p>\n

02-13 May 2016<\/strong>: Professor Korosteleva has been commissioned by the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan to assist with the development teaching, research, CPD and outreach provision at the top-ranking University of Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy<\/a> (ADAU) in Baku. Professor Korosteleva, ADAU executive staff and the European Delegation have developed a Technical Assistance Project to support the establishment and institutionalisation of the Centre of Excellence for European Studies (CEEUS) at ADAU. The overall objective is to develop international partnerships between the CEEUS and its European partners and HEIs.<\/p>\n
