The final installation will represent a 6m2 walk-through schematic of a heart, with the audience essentially as blood cells. More than 50,000 origami hearts have been folded and now efforts are on making the display, attaching the hearts to large boards which will be hung from the ‘walls’ of the heart model. Each board has a solid line of hearts of one colour to represent the blood vessels, and to represent the way that the project has connected people and groups. So far 163 boards (57%) are complete, and there’s at least 125 left. They are appealing for support from university students and staff to help complete this critical task.

These boards will be on sale in order to fundraise for the Molly McLaren Foundation and Cardiac Risk in the Young.
