{"id":357,"date":"2017-10-09T15:26:50","date_gmt":"2017-10-09T15:26:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/unikentsportsci\/?p=357"},"modified":"2017-10-09T15:27:49","modified_gmt":"2017-10-09T15:27:49","slug":"inclusivity-and-participation-india","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/unikentsportsci\/2017\/10\/09\/inclusivity-and-participation-india\/","title":{"rendered":"Inclusivity and Participation \u2013 India"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">Over the summer, our programme director for the Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation programme, Karthikeyan Muthumayandi, was involved in creating a new non-government charity organisation called &#8220;Inclusivity and Participation \u2013 India\u201d <\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;color: black\">With support from two other educational institutions, Nandha Collage of Physiotherapy and ITS Physiotherapy College, \u2018Inclusivity and Participation\u2019 was created to get more people involved in sport. The main aim is to support people with disabilities to participate in sporting activity whilst fund fundraising, creating awareness and supporting events throughout the year. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;color: black\">The organisation will be conducting exploratory\u00a0research\u00a0on\u00a0inclusivity and sports participation of differently abled individuals\u00a0in rural India and evaluate the impact\u00a0on their physical, mental and social well-being.
