Endurance athletes seem to pick up coughs and colds quite frequently, especially during periods with high training volumes We therefore wish to monitor endurance athletes\u2019 illness reports and also test whether a mouth spray product can reduce the occurrence of URTI symptoms in athletes.<\/p>\n
We are looking for:
\n\u2022 Well trained runners\/cyclists\/triathletes (or any other endurance sport)
\n\u2022 Who train at least 4 times per week
\n\u2022 With at least 3 years of training history
\n\u2022 Males and females over the age of 18<\/p>\n
For this 3 month monitoring study you will be asked to:
\n\u2022 Record weekly illness symptoms
\n\u2022 Record training (via an online questionnaire)
\n\u2022 Use a commercially available mouth spray product regularly (when required, in line with manufacturer instructions).
\n\u2022 Take a self swab sample if\/when you have URTI symptoms<\/p>\n
You will receive \u00a3100 to compensate you for your time and effort<\/p>\n
