Student Success – Elise Sparks

BSc Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation student Elise is a University of Kent Sports Scholar in Korfball

Why did you choose to study your course?
I chose to study Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation at University of Kent as this field has always played a big role in my life growing up. When playing sport, injuries can occur and seeing and working with sports therapists throughout really inspired me to rehab and treat others in a similar way to people who have helped me. As I believe without sports therapists we wouldn’t be able to compete and recover at the high level many athletes do.

What are your current sporting achievements?
My current sporting achievements are Bronze medallist at U17 World Cup twice. Bronze medallist at U19 European Championship. As well as competing for the U21 England squad in the European Championships and World Championships achieving 4th place in the Europeans in 2019.

What are your plans for the future?
My plans for the future in a sporting sense are to hopefully compete for the England senior team as well as medal at this years U21 World Championships. However in an academic/ job sense I’d like to work for a sporting team as a sports therapist and work my way up to work alongside some high achieving/ inspirational athletes.
