SSES takes Sports Nutrition education to athlete’s coaches and parents.

Lucy Hale, Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Nutrition for the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences visited one of the largest athletic clubs in the south east to educate members on the importance of good nutrition.

Lucy Hale presented information on daily nutrient requirements for athletes and key strategies for pre, during and post exercise nutrition support to the Invicta Athletics Club, Canterbury Academy on Sunday 2nd of December. The aim was to educate athletes, coaches and their parents on how to best support their sport with sound nutrition.

The event organiser stated, “I just wanted to say a huge thank you for presenting to us today and spending time talking to parents and coaches after. I have had some very positive feedback which was very complimentary.”

Lucy will be providing more talks and workshops on this topic area in the future. Some of this information can also be found in a free online course that Lucy is the lead educator for. The course is entitled the Science of Endurance Performance. A number of our Sport Science and Sports Therapy experts contribute to the course content. Here is the link:
