Final year undergraduate student Charlotte Hutchinson has very personal reasons for wanting to raise money by running the London Marathon for Children with Cancer UK.<\/p>\n
Charlotte, who is studying Computing with a Year in Industry, will be running the 26.2 mile route with her sister Harriet on Sunday 26 April. They can be sponsored on their fundraising page<\/a>.<\/p>\n Harriet said, ‘We have chosen to run the marathon as both a personal challenge and to raise money for Children with Cancer UK. We thought it appropriate to start our fundraising on\u00a011 November 2014, because as of that day Charlotte was\u00a0clear of cancer for six years.<\/p>\n ‘In 2006 Charlotte was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL). She underwent two and a half years of intensive treatment at the Royal Marsden Hospital. As a result of this treatment she developed a bone condition called Avascular Necrosis for which she is still receiving treatment. Therefore, running the Marathon will be an even greater achievement for Charlotte, providing her legs don\u2019t give up!’<\/p>\n Charlotte continued, ‘Children with Cancer UK, along with other charities, has been a brilliant support to our family throughout the last eight\u00a0years. They have provided various opportunities for us to attend events and days out to enable us as a family to enjoy life as normal. This is a fantastic charity and one that is very close to our hearts. The work they continuously do is outstanding and has helped so many families who are going through anything similar.’<\/p>\n
