Second year undergraduate student Jodie Perry\u00a0has been presented with the\u00a0Kent Union Teaching Award for best course rep. Jodie has held the elected position since October 2014 and has represented the views of students at the School of Computing in the staff and student liaison committee, at the\u00a0School learning and teaching committee, and at faculty level.<\/p>\n
The staff and student winners of seven categories were announced at the Kent Union Teaching Awards 2015 ceremony on 30 March in the Darwin Conference Suite.<\/p>\n
Jodie said;\u00a0 \u2018I knew that I had been nominated and shortlisted but I had no idea that I would win until I heard mention of \u2018computing room\u2019 when the nominations were being read out. I am thankful to everyone who nominated me and for the School for providing a platform for students and responding to everything that we raise.\u2019<\/p>\n
Colin Johnson, chair of the staff and student liaison committee said: ‘I am very pleased to see that Jodie has won this award. Student feedback is very important in helping the School to improve, and so it is good to see student reps getting recognised for the valuable contribution they make to the School.’<\/p>\n
