{"id":3320,"date":"2022-08-01T09:22:19","date_gmt":"2022-08-01T08:22:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/unikentcomp-news\/?p=3320"},"modified":"2022-08-09T09:23:00","modified_gmt":"2022-08-09T08:23:00","slug":"icss-researcher-receives-2022-ieee-smc-society-tchs-research-and-innovation-award-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/unikentcomp-news\/2022\/08\/01\/icss-researcher-receives-2022-ieee-smc-society-tchs-research-and-innovation-award-2\/","title":{"rendered":"iCSS researcher receives 2022 IEEE SMC Society TCHS Research and Innovation Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieeesmc.org\/technical-activities\/systems-science-and-engineering\/homeland-security\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The IEEE SMC (Systems, Man, and Cybernetics) Society TCSC (Technical Committee on Homeland Security)<\/a> announced its 2022 awards at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieee-csr.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2022 IEEE International Conference on Cyber Security and Resilience (IEEE CSR 2022)<\/a> on 28<sup>th<\/sup> July 2022. Three cyber security researchers received the 2022 IEEE SMC TCHS Research and Innovation Award, including Professor Paul Haskell-Dowland (Edith Cowan University, Australia), Professor Kim-Kwang Raymond Choo (University of Texas at San Antonio, USA), and the iCSS Director Professor Shujun Li. Each of the awardees also gave a keynote speech at the IEEE CSR 2022 conference, with Professor Li\u2019s talk on \u201cPrivacy through the Lens of Data Flows\u201d (work of the EPSRC funded research project <a href=\"https:\/\/privelt.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PriVELT<\/a> Prof Li is leading) taking place on 29<sup>th<\/sup> July.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Shujun Li said: <em>\u2018It was my great honour to receive one of the three 2022 IEEE SMC Society TCHS Research and Innovation Awards at IEEE CSR 2022. Thank you to the IEEE SMC TCHS Award Committee for selecting me. This came as a (pleasant) surprise as more researchers have done greater work on homeland security than I have.
