{"id":1834,"date":"2019-01-04T16:41:22","date_gmt":"2019-01-04T16:41:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/unikentcomp-news\/?p=1834"},"modified":"2019-01-11T14:31:26","modified_gmt":"2019-01-11T14:31:26","slug":"bronze-award-for-school-of-computing-blog","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/unikentcomp-news\/2019\/01\/04\/bronze-award-for-school-of-computing-blog\/","title":{"rendered":"Bronze Award for School of Computing blog"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The International <span style=\"float: none;background-color: transparent;color: #444444;font-family: Georgia,'Bitstream Charter',serif;font-size: 16px;font-style: normal;font-variant: normal;font-weight: 400;letter-spacing: normal;line-height: 24px;text-align: left;text-decoration: none;text-indent: 0px\">Impact Award scheme has awarded <\/span>The School of Computing a Bronze award for creating an<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cs.kent.ac.uk\/news.html?view=1638\"> internationally-focused blog.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The scheme, set up in 2016,\u00a0 seeks to recognise, promote and reward internationalisation-related activity and achievements within schools and departments at Kent.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s scheme focused on school and departmental blogs and how their internationalisation ventures, achievements and strategic activities are categorised and presented through online relevant news stories.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Anthony Manning, Dean for Internationalisation said<em> &#8220;This year, the standard was high and\u00a0 14 schools entered from across the University. The great news is that this venture has now created a series of opportunities for updating the University&#8217;s range of audiences with Kent&#8217;s internationally-focussed news and it is great that the Computing blog is now an important part of that&#8221;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to this achievement, the School was eligible for \u00a3150 development award to contribute to the cost of enhancing the existing International Impact blog category and will be presented with a commemorative certificate to display our success in January 2019.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The International Impact Award scheme has awarded The School of Computing a Bronze award for creating an internationally-focused blog.
