{"id":1321,"date":"2018-01-17T16:34:07","date_gmt":"2018-01-17T16:34:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/unikentcomp-news\/?p=1321"},"modified":"2018-01-18T15:43:12","modified_gmt":"2018-01-18T15:43:12","slug":"year-in-computing-application-deadline-16-february","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/unikentcomp-news\/2018\/01\/17\/year-in-computing-application-deadline-16-february\/","title":{"rendered":"Year in Computing &#8211; application deadline 16 February"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cs.kent.ac.uk\/ug\/year-in-computing.html\">Year in Computing&#8217;<\/a>\u00a0is\u00a0a self-contained year of study offered by the School of Computing to students from any other School in the University*.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Applications for September 2018 are now open and need to be received by 16 February.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cs.kent.ac.uk\/ug\/year-in-computing.html#apply\"><strong>Apply now<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Students who successfully complete the year graduate with their original degree title plus \u2018with a Year in Computing\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The Year in Computing will especially be of interest to you if;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>you are\u00a0interested in studying computing AND their\u00a0current degree,<\/li>\n<li>you would like to get prepared for a career in tech,<\/li>\n<li>you are interested in exploring the frontiers of their subject and computing,<\/li>\n<li>you want to learn how to be creative with computing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The innovative Year in Computing programme has been awarded a University <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cs.kent.ac.uk\/news.html?view=1206\">teaching prize<\/a>.\u00a0Programme director Ian Utting said: \u2018The programme exemplifies the University\u2019s aims to allow students to broaden their programmes in a flexible way. \u00a0It promotes links between different areas of study and allows students with broad interests and ambitions to realise them.
