New Employability Ambassadors in the School of Computing

Abigail Pattenden and Temmy Sulemon

The School of Computing recently employed two students as Employability Ambassadors to help raise awareness of employability events and opportunities and mentor students looking for placements.

Abigail Pattenden is the Employability Ambassador for the Canterbury campus and Temmy Sulemon for the Medway campus.

Abigail said “Putting yourself out there for employability events, and applying for placement year opportunities in particular, can be a daunting and challenging time. I applied for this role because I’d like to make students aware of how exciting and invaluable the opportunities are, and reassure them about any worries they have.”

Temmy said ”What drives success, and the most successful individuals, is internal motivation.“

Both Abigail and Temmy will be promoting employability events to students, writing blogs and producing videos about their experiences and offering help and advice to students to improve their employability. They will also be available to mentor 2nd year students during the process of searching and applying for a placement.

If you would like to be put in touch with Abigail or Temmy to discuss how to improve your employability or to be mentored while searching for a placement please email csemploy@kent.ac.uk to be put in contact.
