{"id":14,"date":"2022-04-29T10:45:04","date_gmt":"2022-04-29T09:45:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/tvaesthetics\/?page_id=14"},"modified":"2022-06-30T14:11:07","modified_gmt":"2022-06-30T13:11:07","slug":"getting-here-accessibility","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/tvaesthetics\/getting-here-accessibility\/","title":{"rendered":"Getting Here &amp; Accessibility"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The conference will be split across two rooms: the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/maps\/canterbury\/canterbury-campus\/building\/grimond-building\/aphra-theatre\">Aphra Theatre<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/maps\/canterbury\/canterbury-campus\/building\/grimond-building\/lumley\">Lumley Theatre<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For lunches and the conference dinner<\/strong>, we will be in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/maps\/canterbury\/canterbury-campus\/building\/the-gulbenkian\/\">The Gulbenkian<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h1>Getting Here<\/h1>\n<p>The University of Kent is a campus university just outside of the city of Canterbury, Kent.<\/p>\n<p>There are frequent, high speed train services to Canterbury from London St Pancras International. There are also direct services from London Victoria, London Charing Cross, Ebbsfleet International and Ashford International.<\/p>\n<p>For a map of the campus click\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/maps\/canterbury\/canterbury-campus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For details about how to get here from the major London airports (Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Luton) click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/locations\/canterbury\/directions#by-air\">here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>On Foot (from Canterbury West Station):<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>You can walk from Canterbury West train station to the campus (about 25-30 minutes).<\/p>\n<p>Turn left out of the station and walk to the end of the road.<\/p>\n<p>Just after the \u2018Goods Shed\u2019 on your left, take the footpath on the left and take the subway under the railway line.<\/p>\n<p>The University is signposted on blue signs from here.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>By Bus:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>To the University from:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Canterbury Bus Station<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 regular bus service Uni 1 and Uni 2 takes approximately 14 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Canterbury East Train Station<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 turn right straight outside the station (do not cross the bridge opposite the station) and follow the road to the bus stop \u2014 regular bus service Uni 1 and Uni 2.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Canterbury West Train Station<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 \u00a0turn right and walk to the end of the road, cross the road at the zebra crossing and the bus stop is on the left \u2014 regular bus service Uni 1 and Uni 2.<\/p>\n<p>You should alight at\u00a0<strong>Keynes<\/strong>\u00a0bus stop.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>By Taxi:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Fares from the city centre to the University are about \u00a310-\u00a315 and take between 5-10 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>Accessibility<\/h1>\n<p>All the venues for the conference have disabled access.
