I am Managing Director of a farming company that is diversifying into other business lines. I had a career in public service in London so arrived relatively late into the world of farming, commerce and rural life. I have always lived on a steep learning curve; occasionally I think it would be nice to be on a flat straight road but I doubt whether it would prove as interesting!<\/p>\n

Making the transition from a career path in the public sector to the private sector presented a number of interesting challenges. I have had to find ways to manage my clear knowledge gaps and to date, I seem to be doing OK.<\/p>\n
