The Kent MBA 2017
(Part-time)

“Be passionate, persistent and patient.”

I graduated with a Civil Engineering Bachelors degree in 1999. I was headhunted from university and got my first job at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the largest IT company in India as an Assistant System Engineer. TCS provided me with opportunities not only to develop various skills in the Information Technology domain but also to work with global companies, for example General Electric and Cummins Inc.

I am married with two children aged 11 and 4 years. I regularly play badminton with a highly active group of local people. In my spare time, I write Hindi plays and skits and listen to music.

Experience

At present, I am IT Design Lead, responsible for IT solution design and deployment of a transformational multi-million dollar project at one of the largest Cummins Inc. regional warehouses in the USA. I am also a custodian of IT Design in functional areas such as warehousing, logistics, supply planning and order promising etc. in the Cummins corporate office.

I have worked for nearly 18 years in various Fortune 500 companies on many multi-million dollar IT global projects. I have had various roles including Principle Solution Analyst, Project Leader, Senior Business Analyst, and Senior Functional Consultant. Consequently, I have acquired lots of experience concentrated in ERP (enterprise resource planning) and supply chain solutions.

Aspirations

I would like to progress to a senior leadership role in a global organisation and to lead and deliver IT projects that complement business strategic objectives to gain a competitive advantage. I believe the Kent MBA programme will provide me with the opportunity to learn the newest management techniques, the latest methodologies towards change management, and also have more constructive interpersonal skills. It will also help me to build upon my expertise in corporate finance and budget management. All of this will help me to become a stronger leader.

I chose the Kent MBA programme as it is internationally recognised and has AMBA accreditation. Its programme content is challenging but exciting and there is flexibility in the part-time course. This is very important for someone like me who is in a full-time job with demanding responsibilities.

Advice

Be passionate, persistent and patient. Do not be afraid of taking chances. Look for the opportunity in times of difficulty. Be inquisitive and learn from diversity. This will help transform you into a better individual and enable you to grow as a leader.
