The event celebrated the formal launch of the TALENT Commission report. The report was published February 2022 and provides 16 overarching recommendations to ensure that the UK has the technical skills, roles and careers required to support the UK in its aim to be a powerhouse of world-leading research and industry.

Speakers at the reception included Lord Sainsbury of Turville (Settlor of the Gatsby Foundation), Dr Helen Pain (CEO Royal Society of Chemistry and Chair of the Technician Commitment Steering Board), Jiteen Ahmed (Head of Technical Services from Aston University), Professor Karen Holford CBE (Vice-Chancellor for Cranfield University), David Sweeney (Executive Chair for Research England) and Kelly Vere MBE (Project Lead for TALENT and Director of Technical Skills and Strategy for the University of Nottingham).

The TALENT Commission Report provides valuable recommendations and insights that will help continue to drive forward and further refine our Technician Commitment strategy action plan going forward.
