Michaela Kolmosova, Technician in Biosciences, successfully applied for T-PIKE funding to visit industry partners at their manufacturing site. The visit provided an opportunity for Michaela to observe processes and conditions that would directly feed into her work back at Kent, enabled an invaluable networking opportunity and provided transferrable knowledge that will be shared with others.
Here’s what Michaela had to say about the opportunity:
“Thanks to funding from the technician-lead Technical Platform for Innovation and Knowledge Exchange (T-PIKE), I was able to visit our associates in industry at their manufacturing site in the Netherlands! My industry is small and manufacturing sites rare, so it was invaluable to be able to see the ins and outs of the manufacturing process as well as the research and controls it involves. Travel funding for technicians is scarce, yet important for us to build connections in our fields – with our colleagues, scientists and business leaders – to have a wider access to opportunities collaboration and professional development, so I am very grateful to have been provided the resources and assistance by T-PIKE’s team!”
