Negative Triggers

Content Warning: Sexual imagery. Mental health and trauma alluded to.

Total Black out? – No the exhibition space is not completely dark. There is one work which is black box visitors are invited to step into and look through a pair of goggles.

What is the audience lighting level? – Dimmed spotlights

Flashing Lights or strobe? – One large projection has flashing lights and images.

Loud sounds/noises (inc. music)? – Yes, one video piece has loud music. Other video pieces have music playing through headphones.

Repetitive noises? – Yes, the music in one video piece has repetitive music. All video pieces are on loop and between 2 to 5 minutes.

Drums? – Yes

High-pitched tones? – Yes

Unexpected sounds (eg. Crash)? – Yes, there is loud “Pa” sound in the projected video.

Is there background sound/music? – Yes, the projected video plays throughhout the exhibition

Do any of the characters in your show express anger? – There is one video in which a character dresses up with a fake large penis and uses obscene language to mock gender stereotypes.
