Drawing on her research on the pedagogic practices of teacher educators and their dilemmas of teaching students from different race, faiths and cultures, Professor Mirza will explore the difficult concept of \u2018spaces of safety\u2019 which offers us the radical possibility of transcending the \u2018stuck\u2019 institutional discourses of \u2018diversity\u2019 and racial equality which dominates our educational landscapes in so called \u2018post-race times\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Heidi Safia Mirza is Emeritus Professor of Equality Studies in Education at UCL Institute of Education and Visiting Professor of Race, Faith and Culture at Goldsmith\u2019s College, University of London.
