The Professional Services team in the School of Engineering and Digital Arts has been short-listed in the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards.<\/p>\n

Outstanding Departmental Administration Team<\/p>\n

In line with the University\u2019s institutional strategy to heighten student satisfaction and embrace the government\u2019s\u00a0Teaching Excellence Framework, the team are being recognised for the exceptional work\u00a0<\/a>in student preparedness, recruitment and student success.<\/p>\n

As a result of EDA\u2019s commitment to understanding their student community, the team have developed outstanding innovations by maximizing the creative engineering and digital media resources available in their School; many of which have been developed as a direct result of the Student Success (EDI) Project and EDA\u2019s Student Success (EDI) Project Officer.<\/p>\n

They spearheaded an innovative animation to facilitate students\u2019 preparedness for University, and introduced a highly successful Welcome Week Icebreaker event to help build friendships and school orientation.<\/p>\n

They devised an\u00a0innovative student progress profiling system that charts students\u2019 academic progress which is now generating interest across the wider university and developed a Virtual Student Advisor (VSA), a dynamic webpage that centralises the navigation of many of the university\u2019s resources for pastoral\/academic support.<\/p>\n

The winners of the 2016\u00a0THE\u00a0<\/a>award will be announced at a special event in London in the summer.<\/p>\n
