The first Kent Business School, Medway speaker event of the academic year takes place on 31 October 2019 from 5pm-7pm at the Royal Historic Dockyard. As part of its EDI Business Seminar Series, KBS welcomes Hayley Mulenda and Mayor of Medway, Habib Tejan to talk to students and staff across the whole University of Kent community.
Hayley is an alumni of the University of Kent who has gone on to be a very successful author, international speaker and change maker. Her book, ‘The ABC’s to Student Success’ has been rated 4.9* on Amazon and Hayley has used this as a medium for being transparent about her story to empower others to share theirs. It highlights her experience of battling and overcoming suicide and she uses the alphabet to teach others how to cope when you face different trials and tribulations. Hayley has worked with world-leading organisations such as Microsoft, PwC and JP Morgan and many FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 organisations.
She shares insight on well-being and Millennials, how to engage with young talent as well as cultivate and create working environments where workers do not feel vulnerable. She has also run workshops with young talent on resilience, wellbeing, dealing with workplace pressure and communicating effectively when things may go wrong.
Mayor of Medway, Habib Tejan is currently studying for his MBA and has lived in Medway since 2004. An experienced Management Professional, previously working in the Finance Industry, he won many managerial awards, and in his capacity as Mayor has facilitated and encouraged many investment opportunities in Medway.
