The School of European Culture and Languages (SECL) hosted a successful Academic Peer Mentoring meeting for all Stage 1 students on October 6th which was well attended. A representative from the Student and Learning Advisory Service gave a brief lecture on the scheme before the SECL mentors attended. Each mentor introduced themselves and the subject they represented.
After the lecture the students had the opportunity to network with the mentors over lunch, which was greatly appreciated. The mentors wore brightly coloured t-shirts so that they could be easily identified. There was a lot of avid discussion between the new students and the mentors and nearly 100 new mentees signed up to the scheme, which was a great success!
