Student Success and SSPSSR staff Dr Barbara Adewumi, postdoctoral research associate in Student Success, Dr Triona Fitton, lecturer in Sociology and Student Success, and Dr Alexander Hensby, lecturer in Sociology have been awarded £15,000 by the British Sociological Association (BSA) to gather and collate teaching and recruitment policy resources across British universities. This project will produce a repository of best practice resources guided by Student Success EDI principles to support ‘the place of race and ethnicity in British Sociology’. They will be working with some key players in the field of race and ethnicity, Remi Joseph-Salisbury, Stephen Ashe, Claire Alexander, and Karis Campion, authors of the BSA Race and Ethnicity in British Sociology report 2020, Remi Joseph-Salisbury, will act as one of the members of the BSA’s Project Advisory Board along with members of the BSA Equality and Diversity Sub-Committee, the BSA President, and the Chair of the UK Council of Heads and Professors of Sociology. The project is set to begin in the Autumn.
