The Student Success Team’s Systems Development Manager has had a busy June working on several exciting projects we’d like to update you on.
Firstly, the ‘Parent Tour’ feature has been added to the popular One Hour Degree game which you can find by clicking here. The app guides participants around the Canterbury campus whilst highlighting specific facilities and services that parents/guardians would be most concerned about relating to study, health and welfare and living arrangements.
This feature has been developed to provide something for parents/guardians to do on campus whilst the student is involved in an open day and they’ll also be able to complete it off-campus. It’ll provide parents/guardians with key pieces of information so that if the student needs support early in their academic journey, the parent can provide them with appropriate guidance and suggestions.
In addition, Alison is in the final stages of developing a student scavenger hunt game, again hosted within the One Hour Degree app, that schools can provide to their new students in Welcome Week as part of their programme of orientation events.
