All staff in the Student Success Project are deeply saddened and disturbed by the recent death of George Floyd, and the inexcusable BAME deaths from Covid-19 in the UK.
We stand in solidarity with people of colour currently protesting in the US and the UK, but we are also fully aware that institutional racism directly affects the educational journey of our Black students at Kent. We fervently believe that it is our responsibility to listen to and support the voices of our Black students, and we will continue to challenge the structures and practices that traumatise Black students in order to transform and empower our community.
