Honorary degrees announced for University ceremonies in July

 

The Student Success Project are trilled that two members of their Inspirational Speaker Program, author and poet Lemn Sissay, as well as Dr Anne-Marie Imafidon MBE are among those due to receive honorary degrees from the University of Kent in the ceremonies during July.

Lemn Sissay who delivered his talk “Gold From the Stone” for the Student Success Project back in February to an audience of staff and students, will receive his honorary Doctor of Letters degree, in recognition of his ‘contribution to literature and his inspirational life and career’ at a ceremony at Canterbury Cathedral on 19 July.

Anne Marie Imafidon MBE visited the University of Kent School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science in as part of the Student Success Project back in October 2017 as part of the Universities Black History Month events.

The University is honoring a really fantastic collection of specialists and champions, including Dr Sue Black OBE in recognition of her ‘inspirational championing of women in computing and science and campaign to preserve and save Bletchley Park’
