Medway School of Pharmacy: International EDI conference in Boston

Medway School of Pharmacy’s Project Officers Sammi Hall and Luke Taylor attended an International EDI conference in Boston from April 25-26th 2016.  Both presented E-Posters entitled “The Use of Social Media in a UK School of Pharmacy to Increase Student Engagement and Sense of Belonging” and “Improving Numeracy Standards in UK Pharmacy Students” respectively.

The conference aimed to “bring together leading academic scientists, researchers and research scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion” (ICEDI, 2016).

The posters were both very well received, with particular interest in student engagement with both social media and the numeracy initiative. The attendance and presentation at this conference has allowed for potential future collaboration with other UK Universities for both Medway School of Pharmacy and the Student Success project as a whole.
