Launched in 2017, the initiative aims to encourage aspiring individuals interested in a career in financial technology &#8211; a relatively new sector which is increasingly struggling to attract qualified talent\u200b.\u00a0 More than 40 accredited UK-based universities have supported the initiative, including the \u200bUniversity of Oxford\u200b, the \u200bUniversity of Strathclyde \u200band \u200bKing&#8217;s College London\u200b.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>2019 Award Details<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Deadline:\u00a0<\/strong>15th August 2019<\/p>\n<p><strong>Study in<\/strong>: United Kingdom<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amount<\/strong>: \u00a38,000 towards the cost of a master&#8217;s degree or MBA<\/p>\n<p><strong>Type of course:<\/strong> Taught, research, full-time and part-time programmes are all eligible<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year of study:\u00a0<\/strong>Fintech-related subject (e.g. finance, business, management, engineering, computer science)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Number of scholarships available:\u00a0<\/strong>One<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Eligability<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>To qualify for the Fintech Fellowship, applicants must cover the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have an offer of admission to a master&#8217;s or MBA programme at an accredited British university<\/li>\n<li>Be a British citizen or resaident<\/li>\n<li>Study a Fintech-related subject, with an intention to work in Fintech upon graduation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Required Documents<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Applicants can upload their CV and cover letter via the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spotcap.co.uk\/fintech-fellowship\/\">Fintech Fellowship Webiste.<\/a>\u00a0 Your cover letter should include the following points:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Brief description of their background and achievements<\/li>\n<li>What sparked your interest in Fintech?<\/li>\n<li>How your studies would support a career in Fintech<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Fintech Fellowship 2019 Timeline<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>30 April:\u00a0<\/strong>Applications open<\/p>\n<p><strong>15 August:\u00a0<\/strong>Applications close<\/p>\n<p><strong>6 September:<\/strong> Shortlisted candidates contacted<\/p>\n<p><strong>20 September:\u00a0<\/strong>Winner notified<\/p>\n<p><strong>1 October:\u00a0<\/strong>Official announcement of Fellowship winner<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Judging Panel<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Gregoire Michel,<\/strong>\u00a0Head of Sector Programmes at <a href=\"https:\/\/technation.io\/\">Tech Nation<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Julian Wells,\u00a0<\/strong>Director at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitecapconsulting.co.uk\/\">Whitecap Consulting<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fintechnorth.uk\/\">Fintech North<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Emily Nicolle,\u00a0<\/strong>Technology Editor at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cityam.com\/\">City AM<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Sarah Kocianski,\u00a0<\/strong>Head of Research at <a href=\"https:\/\/11fs.com\/\">11:FS<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Ina Yulo,\u00a0<\/strong>Manager, Global Head of FinTech and Financial Services, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brighttalk.com\/\">Bright Talk<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Niels Turfboer,\u00a0<\/strong>Managing Director at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spotcap.co.uk\/\">Spotcap<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Terms &amp; Conditions<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the case of two &#8211; year degrees, the Fintech Fellowship will only apply to the first year of study.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must be able to cover the additional costs associated with completing their degree, including living costs and outstanding tuition fees.<\/li>\n<li>Applications submitted after the deadline indicated on the Fintech Fellowship website will not be considered.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants are required to disclose any other funding they are receiving or may receive.<\/li>\n<li>To read the full Terms &amp;
