It\u2019s a very supportive environment where you can ask any question in a safe place.\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Don\u2019t miss out on such a great opportunity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>LSSJ has three different schemes you can apply to:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. <\/strong><strong>Kent Law School Professional Mentoring Scheme<\/strong> \u2013 deadline has passed. If you are thinking of applying next year, then please do find more information on the Get Into Law blog here: https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/getintolaw\/mentoring\/<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Centre for Journalism Professional Mentoring Scheme<\/strong> \u2013 this scheme is available to journalism students only who are seeking careers in media. Applications forms were emailed to you on the 30th April.\u00a0 <strong>Deadline to apply<\/strong> <strong>Monday 24<sup>th<\/sup> May at 9am.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>3. <\/strong><strong>Kent Career Mentoring <\/strong>\u2013 this newly launched scheme is open to students of Psychology, <strong>SSPSSR (not Social Work)<\/strong> and Politics &amp; IR.\u00a0Kent Career Mentoring is a way for Kent students to connect with Kent Alumni working in industry, to receive guidance, in order to support them in their future careers.\u00a0Students taking part in Kent Career Mentoring will have the opportunity to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Explore a particular profession or sector<\/li>\n<li>Develop employability skills and grow in confidence<\/li>\n<li>Establish and build professional connections<\/li>\n<li>Earn 15 Employability Points and receive a certificate upon completion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Autumn 2021 mentoring programme<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mentoring will take place between September \u2013 December 2021<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility: <\/strong>Students must be registered with one of the following schools:<br \/>\nSSPSSR (but not open to Social Work), Psychology or Politics and International Relations. Open to current students in their\u00a0first or second year only<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>(going into their 2nd and final year).<\/p>\n<p>All interested students\u00a0must attend a 30 minute virtual mentoring introduction session, before submitting an application form. Online introduction sessions will run between May \u2013 June 2021. The matching process will commence as soon as applications are received, so, earlier applicants will be more likely to get a mentor.
