Volunteering is a great way to show future employers that you have relevant skills, you care about others and\/or your environment and demonstrates commitment and that you have been in a position of trust. There are many opportunities to volunteer, including on-line! This is just one voluntary role that you can apply for, but you will find more on Vacancy Database \u2013 Target Connect.<\/p>\n

Do you have an hour to spare each week? Would you like to support your community?
\nWe are Carers First, we are a charity supporting unpaid carers in Medway, Essex, Lincolnshire, Newham, Waltham Forest, Haringey and Hackney. We support through information, guidance and advice, with support groups alongside community teams with local support with assessments. Duties include:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To attend initial induction.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To make a regular call to a carer<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To provide undivided attention, a listening ear<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To offer emotional support making the client feel valued.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To alleviate social isolation and loneliness<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To promote positive mental health<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To feedback details of the call to the Volunteer team and to raise any issues or concerns<\/p>\n
